Folding Terraces

Project Description

6 Residences with Swimming Pools – Skroponeri, Euboea, Greece

Architects: Eleni Gkini, Varvara Christopoulou

Photorealistic Renderings: Konstantinos Xanthopoulos

The plot is situated on a steep slope that descends towards Skroponeri Bay, offering panoramic views of the sea and natural landscape. The design is inspired by the site’s topography, the client’s vision, and the traditional zig-zag paths of Greek hillsides, creating a composition that blends harmoniously with the surroundings.

Architectural Concept

The layout of the residences is based on folded terraces and plateaus that follow the natural slope of the terrain, achieving:

Seamless flow between levels, ensuring unobstructed views.

Natural integration with the landscape, making the residences an extension of the terrain.

Materials & Integration with the Landscape

The base of the buildings is clad in stone sourced from the site, visually softening their height. The terraces accommodate both indoor and outdoor living spaces while offering stunning panoramic views.

Living Experience

The design highlights the surrounding landscape, fostering a deep connection with nature and making the environment an integral part of daily life.
